Mission Statement

To encourage responsible ownership and breeding of the purebred Scottish Terrier.  To promote the integrity of the Scottish Terrier through companionship, conformation, performance, character, and health as recognized by the AKC for purebred terriers.  We are resolute in advocating good sportsmanship.

We are especially excited to be hosting esteemed international judge, Mr. Goran Gladic, at the STCA Banquet on the evening of Saturday, August 17th, 2019.  Mr. Gladic will be speaking about his observations of the Scottish Terriers that will be shown and judged on Friday, August 16th, 2019.  We are very much looking forward to his remarks, especially from the perspective of an international fancier of the Scottish Terrier.

Barbara Fraile was born in 1987 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her deep and ongoing story with dogs formally started in 1998 when she got her first Giant Schnauzer, Wendy. She has lived in Helsingor Denmark near the castle Kronbørg and was a part of the great art festival there. Today Barbara resides in Italy. Her sculpted dog pieces have been sold all over the world and are in much demand and admiration!

I put myself at the disposition of the moment and soon my desk is full of clay dogs! I spend weeks watching them and taking them to the end of the process, and then I get them in my hands and watch them looking at me. I didn’t choose to do this work, it has chosen me and I’m at its service.”

The Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Denver will be hosting the National Rotating Specialty this coming August Friday the 16th -2019 in Greeley Colorado!

Such a wonderful opportunity to be granted this honor of hosting the Nationals that we felt the trophies should be especially outstanding.

2019 STCGD Specialty and STCA Rotating Specialty

The Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Denver is excited to host our 2019 Specialty and the 2019 STCA Rotating specialty in Greeley, Colorado on August 16.  There will be 4 days of all breed shows in cooperation with the Greeley Kennel Club.

On Friday August 16 at the STCGD Specialty we welcome International Judge Goran Gladic for regular classes and Judging our Sweeps will be STCA Member Dr. Marsha Dawson.

I was born 28th March 1964 in Sremska Mitrovica, ex-Yugoslavia, nowadays Serbia. I finished high electrician school and worked 22 years in National bank of Yugoslavia, musician, DJ and Pet shop owner too. 2016 I moved and live in Finland where I married and owner of Grooming studio. I am a father of two children.
Love over animals and nature coming of my grandfather who was hunter and owner of different hunting breeds.
My career in Dog World started 1986 as member a local city all breeds Dog Club where I worked eight years as secretary, four years’ vice president and ten years as club president. In this time, I worked on organization of 22 National Dog Shows, many special different breeds show as hunting match shows too. I was member of Yugoslavian Kennel Club Committee over 10 years. 
I worked as Dog journalist and photographer for few magazines about animals and nature. I wrote script about Dog grooming as stripping for rough coated breeds.
In ’80 I was owner of English Cocker Spaniel and Yellow German Boxer.
My breeding career start 1990 when I bought female of Scottish Terrier. 1992 I founded Invisible Touch Kennel where I produced 36 champions at home as all around the world as 35 litters of Scottish Terrier. 
Judging career, I started 2000 and 2002 I was National Dog judge. From 2004 I am international FCI Dog judge. Till now I was judging in 38 different countries all over the world, all types of Dog show: club special, national or international.

IMG 2153My husband and I live in Indiana on 60 acres where we have raised our family since 1980. We are fortunate enough to have our two grown children and 5 grandchildren who live close by. I went to Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and practiced in near by Brownsburg until I retired. I have been breeding and showing Scotties since the mid-1980’s under the HiJinks affix. I am a 33 year member of the STCA. I am also a member of the Scottish Terrier Clubs of Greater Dayton, Michigan, Greater Louisville, and Chicago (honorary). I have served on the STCA Board for several years as a Director and Corresponding Secretary, and I have also served on the STCA Health Trust Fund for several terms. I am currently the Chairperson of the Health Trust Fund. I am not breeding as many litters as I used to, but along with achieving some nice successes in the Conformation ring at specialties and all breed shows, I am enjoying training my Scotties in Rally and Barnhunt.  I have had the privilege of judging several Specialty Sweepstakes in the past, and I have enjoyed every minute of judging the puppies.
